O Father you’re as close as can be
Just a whisper or a prayer you long to hear,
You’re with us each minute of the day
and because you’re with us we’ve nothing to fear.

Just one step and I’ll be home
it’s getting closer as the days go by,
My thoughts are lifted heav’nward
My heart soars to you on high.

You are crowned with glory and honour
You’re seated on the throne,
You’re all reigning and victorious
it’s the place that I call home.

But in the meantime Lord
This path I walk with you,
Your hand is holding my hand
and it’s your will I long to do.

You are so close to me now
My life is hidden in you,
I feel the cry of your heart
it is something O so new.

At times I find it scary
and I wonder if it’s only me,
but I’ve prayed with all my heart
for your will and your purpose to see.

You are my everything you are my all
and my heart is fixed on you,
Whatever happens I know you are with me
and Your promises are so true.

I’ve been thru’ the valley of grief
filled with pain and sorrow,
but you lifted me Lord to the mountain top
You’re my strength and hope for tomorrow.

You’ve put a new song in my mouth
and given me reason to sing,
A song of the return of Jesus
my Lord and my King.

You’re a faithful God you changeth not
Your compassions are new every morning,
One day Lord Jesus you’re coming back
and there won’t be any warning.

We must be ready and waiting
Watching for the master’s return,
There are plenty of things that are happening
There are plenty of things to learn.

Jesus is coming back
this is so often what we’ve heard,
and we know it will truly happen
for he’s promised in His word.

His word is faithful and true
we have no reason to doubt,
O what a wonderful day that will be
for this is what it’s all about.

Jesus you are coming back
and we are coming home,
O what a wonderful story to tell
of salvation in Jesus alone.

You are my only hope,
You are the rock I cling to,
You are the one that I can trust
You O Lord, will return!

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
