When you disobey the Lord
life seems like a nightmare,
The pain and agony of the consequences
one is hardly able to bear.

But praise be to our Father
who forgives us of our sin,
When we repent and come to him
He cleanses us within.

I love the story of the prodigal son
but most of all seeing the father,
O what love he had for his son
totally different to the brother.

As soon as he saw him he went with such love,
he ran to meet his son,
He hugged him and kissed him with such joy
not interested in the things he’d done.

He threw a great party, and gave him a robe and a ring
what joy there was that day,
The son who had gone was now back home
to come back to the father, was the only way.

What a wonderful picture of our heavenly Father
when we get off the track somehow,
How he rejoices when we return
and humbly before him bow.

What love and mercy and grace
comes from our Father above,
He loves us so much he’s the one we can trust
we can always depend on His love.

I’m so glad O Father,
that you’re with us every day,
that you walk with us hand in hand
to show us your wonderful way.

It saddens my heart to think of the loss
that people go thru’ each day,
But it gives me joy to know you are with us
you’re our strength, our joy, our stay.

We may have great losses in our lives
that cause so much pain,
But there’s awaiting in you O Lord
a joy and a far greater gain.

A closeness to you O Father
that we’ve never known,
An overwhelming fullness of your love
that is with us ‘till we go home.

A joy that’s so unspeakable
you really can’t explain,
A promise you’re always with us
and a freeness of the pain.

So once again O Father
I thank you for drawing me with your love,
for all you’re doing in our lives
and bringing us to our home above.

Luke 15:20
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion and ran, and fell on his neck and kissed him.
