O thank you Father for sleep
it’s amazing how different you feel,
When you’ve had a night where you’ve slept right thru’
I’m sure it helps the body to heal.

If you’re someone who doesn’t sleep well
you will know what I mean,
In those hours of sleeplessness
on the Lord I truly do lean.

How precious are the times O Father
when in the stillness of the night,
I bring to you my loved ones
asking you to work in their lives.

There’s something about the stillness of the night
when all is O so quiet,
It seems I draw so close to you
as I lie there for quite some time.

Sleep just seems to elude me
most nights when I go to bed,
But I’ve learned it can be the most precious time
that brings strength to me instead.

I can understand treasures in the darkness
there are many to be had,
No matter what place you’re in right now
or how very bad.

I’ve learned to trust my Father
to roll my cares on Him,
It’s like He takes me in his arms
and brings His peace within.

O how I thank you Father
you’re with me constantly,
No matter whether it’s day or night
your presence will always be.

Even tho in the darkest night
your light does still shine,
A gem that shines so bright
in the darkness you do find.

When reading the word or in prayer
it’s like digging for precious jewels,
They’re like gems that really sparkle
that you don’t get in the world.

They are jewels that are so priceless
they come especially out of the dark,
They’re jewels that can’t be stolen
for they’re placed within our heart.

I’d rather have jewels from the darkness
they are such a precious kind,
Than all the jewelry I could have
that only in this world you find.

Father there’s a joy that is within me
that you’ve placed within my heart,
You’ve filled my every longing
and you never will depart.

Isaiah 45:3
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by name, am the God of Israel.
